If you are looking to take a short break to Belfast then be prepared to experience a truly magnificent city which offers the buzz and vibrancy of a capital city, whilst being a gateway to the rural retreat of Northern Ireland.

Belfast is situated on the north-east coast of Ireland. It is an exceptionally beautiful city which is fast becoming a major tourist centre in northern Europe.  It is an ideal cheap flights destination from the British mainland.

Belfast has seen a huge increase in popularity as a city break destination with tremendous growth in the local economy.  With a vast range of attractions in the city and a stunning landscape to explore there is plenty to do on a short break.  You’ll discover a city rich in historical and cultural diversity.  The local people are immensely proud of their city and visitors are guaranteed a warm welcome.  In fact, the people of Belfast are often considered to be amongst some of the most genuine and hospitable people you’ll find.

There are a huge number of attractions in Belfast which are free or very reasonably priced making a trip to the city both entertaining and affordable.  Whether you are interested in art centres and museums, historical buildings or beautifully located castles you’ll find something that makes your break special. One of the fantastic things about Belfast is that it’s such a compact city; you can reach many of its attractions on foot.  If you want to stray a little further, for example to the city’s beautiful parks, then cycling on dedicated cycle lanes is always an option.

Getting to Belfast couldn’t be easier.  Flights to Belfast from the UK take around an hour and 15 minutes and are available from most UK airports.  Belfast boasts two airports; the George Best Belfast City Airport, which is two miles from Belfast’s city centre and the Belfast International Airport, which is eighteen miles from the city centre.  Both airports have excellent transport links on hand to get you to the city centre.

Not only does Belfast have much to offer its visitors but it is also a great base from which to explore some of Northern Ireland’s fantastic natural attractions.  Only a few hours away you’ll find the Giant’s Causeway, the Mountains of Mourne and many picturesque villages including the attractive seaside town of Bangor – all perfect locations from which to sample the best of the Irish.
